Which platform (and networks) ?

Four main operational platform types are identified as part of the the CORIOLIS coastal/regional domain : 

• Eulerian platforms :
  • National Observing System COAST-HF
  • SMATCH buoys : RESCO and Island networks
  • HF SOMLIT stations 
  • MOOSE network
  • Meteo-France moorings (Brittany, Gascogne)
  • High Frequency radars (from SHOM and INSU)
  • Waverider buoys (CANDHIS network)

• Measurements from vessels of opportunity :
  • FerryBox : RV Armorique, RV Pont Aven
  • RECOPESCA environment network 

• Coastal profilers : ARVOR-C and ARVOR-Cm 

Drifting systems (surface drifters and sub-surface Gliders) are considered in independent component of the Coriolis programme.
